Contract horror

The 'productivity bonus' required 32 patients a day. In a 9-hour clinic.

The offer letter said base + bonus. What it didn't say: the threshold was mathematically impossible unless every visit averaged 16 minutes — charting included. I did the math after I signed. Thirty-two patients across a nine-hour day, minus a thirty-minute lunch I never actually took, left me sixteen minutes a head. The 'bonus' was never going to pay out; it was a number on paper to make the comp look bigger than it was. I left after eight months. Now I run the math before I sign anything.
